About Scarlett de la Torre

Scarlett de la Torre is a musician and sound practitioner whose work is shaped through a long relationship with music, listening, and service. Her practice combines intuitive artistry with neuroscience-informed approaches to sound, with respect for lineage, context, and care.

In 2018, Scarlett founded AHA Sound Sanctuary to create accessible entry points into music as a regulating and connective force. The sanctuary emerged from a simple observation: when sound is held with intention and containment, it can support clarity, emotional safety, and remembrance. Over time, this work expanded into ceremonial music, private sessions, teaching, and collaborative projects that honor sound as both art and practice.

Scarlett’s relationship to teaching spans more than a decade and is rooted in activism. She has served as an ambassador for Beauty for Freedom, supporting creative education initiatives addressing human trafficking. Her work with survivors at New Light in Kolkata shaped her understanding of sound as a companion through trauma, integration, and rebuilding trust with the body. She has also supported displaced Syrian refugee youth through musical education with Elpida Home, fostering resilience and hope through creative expression.

Scarlett has also supported earth-based healing traditions and cross-cultural dialogue. She has contributed musically to ceremonial tours with Indigenous leaders from the Asheninka, Huni Kuin, and Yawanawa peoples, learning through proximity, listening, and respect. Through relationships with Indigenous pajés, she developed a dedication to supporting plant medicine circles within Ultra-Orthodox Jewish communities, using music as a bridge for cultural understanding, safety, and connection.

Scarlett collaborates with The Wonderland Project, supporting legal and subsidized plant-assisted therapy for survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse. In this context, her role centers on creating sonic environments that prioritize consent, containment, and nervous system awareness.

At the center of Scarlett’s work is a commitment to sound as relationship . Her offerings are intentionally intimate, shaped to meet people where they are. Through music, listening, and presence, her work supports connection, integration, and a return to inner coherence.
